What is Giethar's Epoxy?
Epoxy is a two-component casting resin consisting of the liquid base resin component and a liquid hardener. When you add these two components in the right proportion and mix them together, a chemical reaction occurs. The chemical reaction hardens the epoxy. When fully cured, epoxy is twice as strong as concrete. In addition, epoxy resin adheres excellently to various other materials, so that it can be used in a variety of ways.

If you are new to using epoxy, you may prefer to buy it from the store first. There are several companies that have epoxy on their shelves, but they are often not specialists. As a result, the quality of the epoxy is much lower than expected. It would be a shame if you start your first project and the epoxy doesn't cure properly, for example, or has discolored over time from the sun.

FAQs
What is the difference between epoxy resin and casting resin? ›

What are the disadvantages of epoxy resin? ›Epoxies have high corrosion resistance and are less affected by water and heat than other polymeric matrices. The main disadvantage of epoxy resins are their relatively high cost, long curing time, and handling difficulties.
When should you not use epoxy? ›Do not use Epoxies when temperatures of the air or the substrate will drop below 50 degrees F. Without first consulting with Epoxy.com Tech service for cold installation. Do not forget to allow extra time for epoxy to cure when working at lower temperatures.
